Hiking - Rogers Pass Hiking Adventure

GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, BRITISH COLUMBIA

“PATHS IN LANDSCAPES FROM AN ICE AGE”

SUMMARY

The area is steeped in human history and is the gateway to an immense wilderness of mountains, glaciers, and swollen streams. Civilization is still just a thread bisecting Glacier National Park. The rest is tamed only by hiking trails and a single mountain hut. Opportunities to explore are wide open to day hikers and those that wish to overnight at a high mountain hut. This highly tailorable five day hiking trip is an unforgettable journey into one Canada’s greatest natural treasures.

DESCRIPTION

Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park offers some of the most beautiful and scenic mountain hiking anywhere. This is a great opportunity to see glaciers up close and in a remote setting. The week is based out of Wheeler Hut, a large front country cabin operated by the Alpine Club of Canada. Hike options include: Illecillewat Valley; Balu Pass; Avalanche Crest; Abbott Ridge; Hermit Meadows; Asulkan Valley. This trip can be custom tailored to the interests of the clients. Possibilities include a vehicle-free week centered around the Wheeler Hut, a couple of nights spent at the spectacular Asulkan Mountain hut, or hiking excursions taken from roadside trailheads. See the mountains on your own two feet and under the skilled and safe care of professional guides.
